The Ring

A simple gold ring that I used to wear on my left hand little finger, sadly it no longer fits. It was given to me when I was 17 by the most beautiful girl I'd ever met. Gorgeous in every way, intelligent, funny, loving, she was amazing to me and I loved her beyond words. When I see it, and hold it I think about the times we shared, laughed, danced and just held hands, the simple pleasures that mean so much and how happy I was at that time.

If I lost it I would be sad, it was a low cost ring so monetary wise, not significant. The memories it holds are invaluable but, I wouldn't need a physical item to retain the memory or the feelings I had and still hold. She is very dear to me, still, even after many, many years with no contact, that can't be taken away.

Sounds corny, love lasts forever and the loss of a ring wouldn't stop that.
