Wedding Day Cufflinks
The object is a pair of cufflinks I wore on my wedding day. I chose them because they symbolise one of the most important moments of my life—the day I married the woman of my dreams. They’re small, but they carry the weight of love, commitment, and the beginning of a life I’m incredibly grateful for.
They were a gift from my best man, who also happens to be my best friend. He chose them especially for me, which makes them even more meaningful. They weren’t just accessories; they were a reminder that I was surrounded by people who love and support me on that day
I was 34, fully aware of the significance of the moment and the people around me. Old enough to understand how rare it is to find someone who becomes both your partner and your best friend.
The first memory is standing there on my wedding day, wearing those cufflinks, looking at the woman who said yes to spending her life with me. I remember feeling overwhelmed with gratitude—knowing I was marrying someone who is my rock, my confidant, and the person who makes every day feel precious.
They fill me with warmth and appreciation. They remind me not just of the wedding, but of everything that’s come after—the love, the laughter, the partnership. They’re a quiet reminder of how fortunate I am to have met such a wonderful woman and to share my life with her.
I’d miss the connection they hold—the link to that special day, to my best man’s gesture, and to the moment my life changed for the better. They’re more than jewellery; they’re a symbol of love, friendship, and the start of a journey I cherish every single day.
